About me

Kaloyan Ratchev is a passionate ecosystem builder, entrepreneur, investor and startup mentor. He is the founder and CEO of Vangavis, an innovation company and ecosystem network operating in the DACH & CEE region, with representations in Bulgaria and Austria.

Kaloyan is a  founding Board Member of the Brussels based “European AI Forum” (EAIF), which represents more than 3000 European AI startups and companies from over 13 EU countries.

In the field health & life science, he is the founder of the initiatives onco-innovate.org and future-trials.org, which are health innovation initiatives at the crossroads of traditional medical symposiums and modern startup & innovation events.

In the field of circularity, main projects include the Interreg Danube project cluster CircularDigiBuild (circularity and digitalisation in the construction sector) as well as the Green-up.earth initiative, which supports green tech startups.

Kaloyan holds a master's degree in Sociology and Economics from the University of Economics in Vienna and has been working in the field of ecosystem development, innovation and entrepreneurship for the last 20 years. His current fields of interest are AI & deep tech, health & life sciences, sustainability & greentech as well as technology transfer and science based innovation. .
