Diaconia University of Applied Sciences (Diak) is a people-oriented university specialised in the fields of social work, health care, diaconia and interpreting. Diak is a respected, experienced and experimental project partner. In addition to education, our core operations include research and development projects. Our work helps people who experience inequality, poverty, loneliness and social exclusion. We carry out around 70 externally funded projects with our partners each year. The objectives and contents of projects are closely linked to our competence areas: diaconia, diversity, social innovations and impactful services. Diak is committed to breaking the cycle of inequality and building a socially sustainable society where everyone can lead a happy and meaningful life. Through our impactful research, development, and innovation activities (RDI) and expert services, we aim to create lasting change. Our core themes include inclusive diversity competence, holistic diaconia, social innovations as well as impactful health and welfare services We carry out this work within our research and development programmes through projects, partnerships and the generation of new knowledge.
