Menothera

Menothera is a Vienna-based femtech startup on a mission to help women in (peri)menopause thrive, not just survive. We are developing a smart wearable garment that detects early physiological signals of an incoming hot flash and activates automated body cooling before the woman experiences discomfort.

Bio-sensors embedded in the garment continuously monitor skin conductance and temperature. A machine-learning algorithm detects the early physiological onset of a hot flash and activates targeted cooling up to 30 seconds before the woman feels it. Cooling intensity is automatically adjusted and stops once the episode ends. The garment is designed for all-day wear, with a detachable control unit that makes it fully washable.
